Our Head table - there wasn’t enough space at the front of the room for a traditional wedding party seating, so we decided to be more in keeping with recreating period seating. My Grandmother, Vic’s Mom, Vic, me, my Mom, and my Dad sat at the head table.

At our wedding we did a Roundel:
Traditionally during the Renaissance, roundels were small, flat platters made of either porcelain or paper served with the last course of the feast. When the plate was empty, the guests were asked to turn over their roundels to find written on the reverse a text, poem, or bawdy phrase which was to be improvisation-ally sung.
We made a slight change and choose to place the words to a song on a piece of paper that was handed out before dinner. After eating, the song “Wild Mountain Thyme” was played and the guests were asked to follow along and sing if they liked. It seemed to go over nicely and we were told it was a nice touch to the festivities.

Cloisters has a Windmill on the property - perfect for photo shoots, don’t you think?
Unfortunately, it was in disrepair, so we couldn’t go inside. One can only hope that they have restored it or have plans to restore it - it’s just beautiful and lends a great backdrop for photos.

Our wedding was on a Friday in July because not a single Saturday was available all summer, anywhere.
The wedding was smaller than we wanted due to this; it was very intimate and we had more time to spend with our guests. Cloisters gave everything a very romantic feel (even without air conditioning).
